The Story of A CONCERT FOR A QUEEN
|

"We who live in the Renaissance have it pretty good: great hours, beautiful surroundings, amazing friends, and the ability to choose our own lifestyle. Yet, despite these perks, the unexpected still happens..."
- from the liner notes by Clev Peters |

Our friends were in need. Phil Johnson (aka MooNiE the Magnif'Cent) and his wife Genna found out in June of 2000 that one of their three children, 5 year old Sophie, had leukemia. Sophie was a child who brightened rooms. She fought through chemotherapy and other invasive treatments, but still kept her spirit up. Sophie was in remission briefly, but the disease came back. Eventually she became so ill the doctors had to take her off the bone marrow transplant list. Word came back how many medical staff Sophie had charmed, loved, and befriended throughout her ordeal. She passed away on February 5, 2002 at the age of seven. The bravery and determination of this delightful child continues to be an inspiration to all who knew her.
